Our most popular habit to date💧
We hope you are doing well and that you are well on your way to becoming the NewU! As you probably know, we have over 250 scientifically verified habits on NewU. Of the 250 habits, our most popular habit is to drink 300-500 ml of water immediately after waking up! More than 200 people made this habit in April! Drinking water directly after waking up is a healthy and effective way to start your morning routine.
On average, a person needs 2 to 3.5 litres of water per day. This means from both food and drinks. During your sleep, you lose an average of ±400 - 500 ml of fluid. This is either through breathing, sweating, and your digestive system. If you have too little fluid in your body, your performance declines. Research has shown that even with only a 1% loss of water, your cognitive ability decreases significantly.
So… when you wake up, first things first! Drink some water. We recommend drinking a minimum of 2 L of water per day and drinking 300 - 500 millilitres of water after getting up. An easy reminder we use is to put a glass of water next to your bed or on the bathroom sink. That way, you are always reminded to drink water when you wake up!

We are looking forward to seeing you there!
