FAQ of habit formation part II⏳
We hope you enjoyed our first FAQ sessions and shared the insights with your friends and colleagues. Based on our FAQ part 1, we received some additional questions that might be relevant for your journey towards the NewU.
Can you quit a bad habit? ✋
Unfortunately, it is not possible to completely unlearn a bad habit. To be more precise, the habit is stored in your brain. But no worries, you can still change your behaviour! There are various effective ways to do this. One of the most important things is to replace the old habit with a new habit.
For example, if you tend to snack during the day, you should replace the candy jar with a fruit bowl. Replacing your unhealthy routine with a healthy one makes it easier to transform yourself into the NewU.
Is it better to work on your habits alone or together? 👯♀️
You already guessed it. It is better to work on your habits together. If you have a habit-buddy, you can keep each other accountable! In addition, having a buddy increases your motivation and is more fun. Both are vital for success.
One way to keep each other accountable is to sign an accountability contract that stipulates that you will do X (healthy habit). If not, you will pay a charity Y. Another way is to join the monthly competition on NewU!
