Walking on sunshine☀️
We hope you enjoyed the beautiful sunny weather last week! As entrepreneurs, we know how hard it can be to spend enough time outside. You’re working hard, sitting or standing behind your desk, while outside, a clear sky appears with a bright sun in the background.
We have good news for you! A 30 min walk in the sunshine is one of the most effective ways to boost your mental and physical health! With the summer approaching, this is the perfect reason to take an extra break, boost your vitamin D levels, get moving and enjoy the sun.
Sunlight is not only lovely and warm but also crucial for your health. When exposed to sunlight, your body produces vitamin D, which is vital for various mental and physical functions. Perhaps the most critical processes are regulating calcium and phosphorus absorption and assisting in normal immune system function. Getting a sufficient amount of vitamin D is also essential for the growth and development of bones and teeth and improved resistance against certain diseases. Did you know that vitamin D plays a critical role in mood regulation? And last but not least, being exposed to sunlight also helps to create a proper day-night schedule!
Enjoy in moderation⚖️
As with most things in life, you should enjoy it in moderation. Excessive sun exposure over an extended period can cause your skin to age earlier and might even lead to skin cancer. But no worries, there is a solution for that! Use sunscreen when going outside. You can check the UV index here to see how intense the sunlight is on a particular day. A UV-index of 3-5 is moderate and six or above is high.
