In search of a unique initiative? Try the Workplace Wellness Olympics

The Workplace Wellness Olympics will take place over a four-week period, with different challenges and activities each week. Employees will track their progress using NewU, and points will be awarded based on participation, personal achievements, and team accomplishments. At the end of the Olympics, the team with the most points will be crowned the Workplace Wellness Champions.

Week 1: Get moving

Challenge: Distance challenge

Activities:

  • Daily distance goal: Achieve a personal daily distance goal (walking, running, cycling, etc.) for points.
  • Team distance goal: Work together with your team to reach a collective distance goal for bonus points.
  • Diversify your distance: Try a new form of distance-based exercise (e.g., running, biking, or hiking) and log it in NewU for additional points.

Week 2: Mindful moments

Challenge: Meditation and mindfulness

Activities:

  • Daily meditation: Complete a guided meditation using NewU for points.
  • Mindful break: Participate in a group mindfulness session for bonus points.
  • Gratitude journal: Submit a daily gratitude entry in NewU for additional points.

Week 3: Healthy eating

Challenge: Nutrition tracking

Activities:

  • Daily food log: Track your meals and snacks using NewU for points.
  • Healthy recipe swap: Share a healthy recipe with your team for bonus points.
  • Hydration challenge: Track your water intake and reach daily hydration goals for additional points.

Week 4: Fitness fun

Challenge: Workout variety

Activities:

  • Workout of the day: Complete the daily workout provided by NewU for points.
  • Group fitness class: Participate in a live or virtual group fitness class for bonus points.
  • Personal best: Achieve a personal best in any exercise activity and log it in NewU for additional points.

Scoring and rewards

Points will be tallied at the end of each week, and a leaderboard will be updated to track team standings. Weekly prizes will be awarded to the top individual performers and the leading team. At the end of the Workplace Wellness Olympics, the team with the most points will be named the Workplace Wellness Champions and will receive a grand prize.
